Over $4.1 Million in Community Investments Highlighted in State Representative Steve Malagari's Fall Update |
New funding for infrastructure, libraries, public safety, and community services is among the major developments shared with residents of Lansdale and surrounding communities. |
For Lansdale families, the value of public funding shows up in everyday places: reliable utilities, accessible libraries and safer neighborhoods.
State Representative Steve Malagari says more than $4.1 million in state grants has reached the 53rd Legislative District this year.
The largest share, $2.3 million, supports sewer infrastructure in Franconia, while $1.1 million is earmarked for libraries serving the district.
Other awards include $278,000 for water infrastructure and $66,000 for equipment for the Franconia Police Department.
Mental health services across Montgomery County receive $250,000, with $75,000 for electrical worker training and $60,000 for VFW Post 5308 improvements.
These are not abstract budget lines when aging systems, job opportunities and access to help affect neighbors directly.
Malagari also highlighted state budget measures involving schools, student teacher stipends, eligible retired public employees and tax relief for working families.
Beyond funding announcements, Lansdale community events have offered practical ways for residents to connect with local services.
A summer shredding and electronics recycling effort served more than 700 people, according to Malagari’s fall update.
Family Fest at Souderton Rotary Park brought residents together with local vendors, food and community resources.
The next opportunity is close to home: a free document shredding event is planned for October 31 at Knapp Elementary School in Lansdale.
The event runs from 10 in the morning until noon, offering residents a chance to discard sensitive paperwork safely.
For people juggling benefits applications or state paperwork, the Lansdale district office can also help navigate common questions.
Its services include property tax and rent rebates, senior transit cards, disability placards, unemployment compensation and transportation-related matters.
The office is located at 100 West Main Street in Lansdale, where residents can seek guidance on state programs. |
